Why Bathrooms Fail Quietly

Bathrooms fail quietly. Cracked caulk and a vanity swelling at the base mean water has been getting somewhere it should not.

What the Work Covers

  • Holes filled and patches sanded flush.
  • Gaps caulked so water stays out.
  • Primer wherever the surface needs it.

What the Work Covers

Bathrooms fail quietly. Cracked caulk, grout gone porous and a vanity swelling at the base are all telling you water has been getting somewhere it should not for a while.

So we deal with the water first and the finishes second. Waterproofing, falls and sealing done properly is what decides whether the room is still sound in five years.

Before We Start

  • Furniture moved and floors covered.
  • Switch plates and fittings taken off.
  • Edges masked and planting protected.

Before We Start

Citrus Heights sun is hard on exterior coatings, and older homes hide a lot of movement in their plaster. Prep is what the finish rests on.

What You Get

  • Two even coats, cut in by hand.
  • Plates reinstalled and the room put back.
  • Site swept and trash hauled away.

What You Get

We work room by room so you keep the use of your house, and we clean down at the end of every day rather than at the end of the job.

Kitchens and Bathrooms, Done Room by Room

A Straight Answer on Refresh Versus Remodel

Most kitchens do not need to be torn out. If the cabinet boxes are sound and the layout works, replacing doors, counters, hardware and lighting gets you most of the way to a new kitchen for far less disruption.

Bathrooms are the opposite: what you can see matters less than what is behind the tile. We check for movement and water damage before quoting rather than pricing off a photo.

What We Remodel

Kitchens and bathrooms take more punishment than the rest of the house combined, so it is worth getting the parts you cannot see right the first time.

Work We Take On

  • Kitchen refreshes: doors, counters, hardware, lighting.
  • Bathroom refreshes: vanities, tile work, fixtures, sealing.
  • Cabinets and vanities installed to fit the house.
  • Tile, backsplashes and patching.

What Changes the Price

  • Whether the cabinet boxes and layout can stay.
  • What we find once the old cabinets come out.
  • How much tile work and waterproofing is involved.

Why Citrus Heights Homeowners Call Us Back

Blair Handyman is small and local on purpose. The person who quotes your kitchen or bathroom is the person who turns up to do it, so nothing gets lost between the estimate and the work.

We are residential only, which means your house is not squeezed between two commercial contracts, and we clean down at the end of every day rather than the end of the job.

Citrus Heights has a lot of 1970s and 80s bathrooms whose original caulk and grout are wearing out at the same time, and older midtown kitchens with solid cabinet boxes well worth keeping.

What we see most in Citrus Heights is established 1970s and 80s homes with mature trees, so shade, leaf litter and root movement come into most jobs. That changes how a job is planned, so we look at the actual property before quoting.

Kitchen & Bathroom Remodels in Citrus Heights: Common Questions

(916) 807-9108

Do you cover Citrus Heights?

Yes. We cover Citrus Heights and Sacramento County as part of our regular service area, along with 16+ other local cities. Residential properties only — houses, townhouses and condos.

If the cabinet boxes are solid and the layout works, a refresh gets you most of the way for a fraction of the cost and disruption. We say which one your room actually needs on the walkthrough, including when the honest answer is that it does not need much at all.

We sequence the work to keep the room usable as long as possible, and the sink goes back on the same day it comes off wherever we can manage it. A refresh is usually one to two weeks; you get the real number with the quote.

Yes. Bring your own cabinets, vanity, tile or fixtures and we will fit them. Houses are not square and walls are not flat, so they get shimmed level, scribed to the wall, fastened into studs and sealed — not just assembled per the instructions.

Nearly always, yes, and it has probably been going on a while. We find where the water is getting in and deal with that first, because installing a new vanity over an unfixed leak just buys you the same problem again.

We handle everyday plumbing and light electrical as part of the job — faucets, traps, shut-offs, outlets, fixtures and fans. Anything needing a licensed specialty trade we tell you about up front rather than halfway through. Call (916) 807-9108.
